Overnight works are set to take place on a section of the A90 and A96 at a notorious Aberdeen roundabout next week.
The investigation works, carried out on behalf of Transport Scotland for the Haudagain Improvement Project will take place on Tuesday, July 4 between 7.30pm and 6.30am for two nights, finishing at 6.30am on Thursday, July 6.
Lane closures will be in place each night to ensure the safety of the work force as well as motorists during the investigations.
Consultation has taken place with local residents in advance of the investigation works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north-east representative, said: “The investigations will allow teams to examine the carriageway and inform the design for the upcoming project.
“The investigation works have been scheduled to take place overnight to limit the impact to motorists, and we’ve taken steps to avoid working at the weekend to further reduce any disruption during the works.
“We would however encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
Upon completion, the Haudagain Improvement Project aims to reduce congestion and improve journey times in what was once dubbed Britain’s worst roundabout.
