A north-east man who had sex with an underage girl who he met through a member of her family has been placed under supervision for nine months.
Bradley Kierel confessed to the offence during an appearance in Aberdeen Sheriff Court in May this year.
The court heard on that occasion the 20-year-old had met the girl in March and went back to her home where he pretended to be on the phone before following her into her room.
The girl’s father spotted him on the edge of the bed and he left the property shortly after.
He met her again two weeks later when he waited for her in a bus station as she came back from a trip to Glasgow.
Then on April 11 this year he confessed to the friend that they had had sexual intercourse.
Defence agent Bob Anderson said on that occasion: “He knew that she was only 15 and realises he should not have engaged with her.”
On that occasion sentence was deferred to allow a criminal justice social work report was prepared.
Mr Anderson said yesterday: “The report is available.
“My client pleaded guilty at the earliest possible opportunity.
“He has autism which brings lots of difficulties into his day to day life.
“The report recommends a short period of supervision.”
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin said: “I agree with the recommendation which I believe he will benefit from.
“This will run for a period of nine months.”
Kierel, whose address was given as Shapinsay Court in Aberdeen, will also be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for the duration of this period.
