Lifeboats have been dispatched to investigate reports of a boat in trouble.
Aberdeen’s all-weather lifeboat ‘Bon Accord’ and inshore lifeboat‘James Bisset Simpson’ both launched at 7.00pm this evening following a tasking from Aberdeen Coastguard to investigate reports from a member of the public of a small craft, possibly in difficulty, off the Ythan Estuary.
Both lifeboats sped to the scene.
On arrival they discovered , an ocean rowing craft engaged in a ‘round Britain row’.
The four rowers reported all was well and the lifeboat coxswain wished them a safe onward passage. After discussion with Aberdeen Coastguard, the lifeboats were stood down and returned to Aberdeen Lifeboat Station at 8.30pm.
