A man has been charged with breaking into a city restaurant and stealing a till draw containing cash.
The 27-year-old man was due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today in relation to an alleged theft by housebreaking at La Lombarda restaurant, King Street, Aberdeen, on July 3.
PC Kirsty MacKay said: “We would like to thank members of the public for their assistance while enquiries were carried out.”
Earlier this month owners of the restaurant Nabil and Jennifer Naoum told of their shock at arriving the next morning to see a front door window panel smashed, their office trashed and the cash register tray missing.
CCTV footage showed the culprit breaking in through the front door, spending 40 minutes searching the premises before prizing the till draw away and casually strolling off.
