A north-east circus troupe is appealing for volunteers and youngsters to join the region’s most famous Halloween celebrations.
Peterhead-based group Modo organises the Aden-een display at Aden Country Park every year – an after-dark performance which attracts thousands of visitors to Mintlaw.
The event is always followed by the Shell Fireworks Parade. Last year the theme was Shakespeare, marking the 400th anniversary of the Bard’s death.
The woods were filled with characters and scenes from the playwright’s most famous works as thousands of costumed visitors toured the park.
Now Modo is inviting youngsters in the area to sign up to participate in the popular event.
A spokesman said: “We are looking for groups to create routines and performances for Aden-een and the Shell Fireworks Parade 2017.
“Now in its ninth year, the fireworks parade brings together and engages hundreds of participants from across Aberdeenshire, giving young people real and transferable skills and experiences as they create routines, props and performances for the event.”
Last month, Modo secured £5,100 of grant funding from the Your Voice Your Choice scheme. The cash will help the group pay for 12 weeks of free circus workshops for young people in Fraserburgh in preparation for the Halloween spectacular.
Aden-een 2017 and the fireworks parade will be held on Friday, November 3 at Aden Country Park near Mintlaw.
