A lucky Aberdeen woman has walked away from a city casino more than £10,000 richer after playing slot machines.
Bo Stephens, who is originally from Thailand, is the first player to land the jackpot prize at Grosvenor G Casino since a change in legislation was introduced earlier this year.
The 39-year-old housekeeper said she was a regular visitor to the facility and was shocked when she secured the windfall.
“I am very, very happy about it. I play there a lot but I think I will stop for a bit because I might have had my luck now. I think I am going to use it for a holiday. I would like to go back to Thailand to see my family,” she said.
Ms Stephen, of Old Aberdeen, won £10,908 while playing at the casino on Wednesday night.
Tom Docherty, casino general manager, said: “We are thrilled to have our first jackpot winner since the legislation changed and hope this is the first of many.
“We have heard news of many other Grosvenor Casino customers winning the jackpot all around the country and it’s great to be part of the good news with a winner of our own.”
The new legislation means that the maximum stake has been increased for Category B1 jackpot machines from £2 to £5 and the jackpot prizes increased from £4,000 to £10,000.
