A group of Deeside bikers who went full throttle for charity have handed over vital funds to a veterans’ charity.
Legion Scotland’s Riders Branch held its fourth annual Aboyne rally earlier this year.
Now the cash from the event has been totalled up, with £1,500 split between Voices for Veterans and Allachburn care home in the village.
Brothers Mike and Bill Barclay recently handed over the cheque to the care home staff.
Last night Bill said they wanted to support former servicemen and women and also give back to the village.
He said: “With both Mike and myself being ex-forces, we are supporting the veterans community within Scotland.
“With the rally invading Aboyne on an annual basis we feel that supporting the local community was the best way of saying thanks. Hopefully the care home will get something from our small donation.
“Thanks must go to those local businesses that have assisted us over the weekend, also to those who have donated towards the rally either financially or in some other way.”
Sally Morrison, hotel manager at Huntly Arms, said the event always proves popular with the locals.
She said: “We are delighted that the bikers come here, they add quite a bit of colour to the village and, of course the hotel. The locals chat about their machines and the escapades they have all had in their own motorcycle years.”
The Riders Branch was formed in 2010 and is made up of armed forces bikers from across the UK.
