Police investigate suspicious car fire in Aberdeen

Police are appealing for information about a suspicious car fire in Aberdeen.

The brown Vauxhall Astra was set alight at around 4am yesterday on Auchinleck Road.

Emergency services were called and the blaze was extinguished by fire crews.

Community Policing Team Inspector Gary Spark, said: “Thankfully the fire was contained to the vehicle and no-one was hurt.  However there was the potential for the fire to spread and cause more damage.

“This is being investigated as a deliberate fire and I would appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to please get in touch.
