Inverurie man named as motorcyclist killed in Angus crash

Police are appealing for witnesses

Police have named the biker killed in a collision with a car on an Angus road.

Douglas Lawie, 47, of Inverurie, was travelling on the A92 north of Inverkeillor when he collided with a blue BMW 1 series yesterday evening.

Mr Lawie and the driver of the BMW was taken to Ninewells Hospital but the Inverurie man died from his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was released following treatment.

A statement has been released through Police Scotland on behalf of Mr Lawie’s family.

It reads: “His partner, family, friends and colleagues are all devastated. “
