A cyclist is being treated for life-threatening injuries after a serious north-east crash yesterday afternoon.
The 58-year-old man, who is from the Aboyne area, was rushed to hospital in Aberdeen following the accident on the B976 Birse to Finzean road, near Ballogie Nursery, shortly after 12pm.
The collision involved a white road style pedal cycle and the rider was wearing black shorts, a white top and a white helmet.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the incident.
The man was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he is currently being treated.
His family have been informed.
Road Policing Sergeant Rob Warnock said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have seen the crash or who may have seen cyclist beforehand and who hasn’t yet spoken with Police to do so to help us piece together exactly what happened.”
A spokesman added: “Anyone with information who hasn’t yet come forward should contact Police Scotland via 101.”
