Firefighters have been called to an Aberdeen warehouse after a forklift truck caught ablaze.
The alarm was raised shortly after 7pm, when the piece of machinery erupted into flames at the Sheffield Insulation building on Broadfold Road in the Bridge of Don area.
Crews from Aberdeen’s central station and Altens managed to get the blaze under control within an hour.
They remained at the site, just opposite the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, until about 9pm to make sure the warehouse was sufficiently free of smoke.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “Crews were called to a fire within the Sheffield Insulations industrial warehouse building at Bridge of Don at 7.04pm.
“They discovered that the fire was within a forklift, and they extinguished it using two sets of breathing apparatus and one main jet.
“They also used a thermal imaging camera to check where the heat was coming from, and later on they used positive pressure ventilation fans to ventilate the building.
“The fire was out by 7.58pm and they returned to their stations at about 9pm.”
