A cyclist has died in hospital following a crash on a north-east road.
Michael Rash , 58, who is from the Aboyne area, was rushed to hospital in Aberdeen following the accident on the B976 Birse to Finzean road, near Ballogie Nursery, shortly after 12pm.
The collision involved a white road style pedal cycle and the rider was wearing black shorts, a white top and a white helmet.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the incident.
The man was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he was being treated by medics, however police have now confirmed he has died.
