A man has been charged in connection to two alleged break-ins to vehicles in the Ellon area.
On August 20, officers received reports of a man entering a Ford Mondeo in the Ythan Terrace area.
And later on the same day, jewellery was taken from an Audi in the Hospital Road area.
The jewellery has since been recovered, and the man will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.
Detective Sergeant Bruce Buntain said: “Thank you to the members of the public who assisted police with these particular inquiries.
“I would once again appeal to the public to always ensure your doors are locked and secure.
“The north-east is generally an extremely safe place to live, however it doesn’t mean you should ever be complacent when it comes to the security of your valuables.
“By leaving the doors to your homes or vehicles unlocked, you are simply giving would-be thieves a helping hand.
“Don’t become a victim and make sure you lock up.”
