Time is running out to sign up for the Dandara 5k and family fun day next weekend.
The popular event at Hazlehead Park has limited spaces left for the 5k and 2k children’s races, with the 1k and 600m fun runs now completely sold out.
Cash from the annual event will go towards the renovation of the park.
This year’s run has a wild west theme, and organisers Sport Aberdeen and Friends of Hazlehead Park have encouraged runners to wear their finest stetsons and cowboy attire for the big day on Saturday, September 9.
Gary Walker, the director of the friends group, said: “It’s hard to believe we have only a week to go until the fourth annual Dandara 5k and family fun day at Hazlehead Park, so we would urge any runners still to sign up to do so before it’s too late.
“This is our biggest fundraising event of the year, with money from previous years helping to pave the way for major improvements to the park, such as the creation of memory paths, the replanting of the Queen Mother Rose Garden, the restoration of the fountain and the revamp of the Pet’s Corner.”
