Witnesses are being sought after an eight-year-old boy was hit by a moped in Aberdeen.
The youngster was hit in Cornhill Terrace at around 4.30pm. He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be treated for facial injuries.
Officers would like to trace two men aged in their late teens who may be able to assist with their enquiries. They were both wearing dark clothing and were riding mopeds.
Inspector Mark Stephen said: “This has been a very upsetting incident for the boy concerned and his family and it will naturally be distressing for the community. We are continuing enquiries today and can confirm that a positive line of enquiry is being followed. I would appeal directly to the community and residents in the local area to assist us. If you saw something which may help us or if you have any knowledge please come forward.
“We continue to encourage the community to report any incidents of anti-social riding of mopeds of motorcycles in their areas and these will be taken seriously.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 2860 of 3 September.”
