A male teenager was taken to hospital in Aberdeen following a two-car crash in Aberdeenshire yesterday morning.
Emergency services attended the incident just after 10am on the B933 Inverurie to Kemnay road, near the premises of Autocentre Inverurie Ltd.
The road remained closed until 1pm while the vehicles involved in the incident – a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Mercedes – could be recovered and diversions were put in place.
The 18-year-old driver of the Vauxhall Corsa was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, but was not thought to have received any serious injuries.
A police spokeswoman confirmed that one person had been taken to hospital and said: “The driver of the Corsa has been taken to ARI and one vehicle is still obstructing the road and is waiting to be recovered.
“We understand there are no serious injuries.”
Fire crews were also in attendance, but were not needed and were stood down within 10 minutes.
A fire spokeswoman said: “We were called to a road traffic collision at 10.23am this morning, but we were not required as the drivers had been released prior to our arrival.
“We helped make the scene safe and were stood down at 10.29am.”
Ambulances crews were also in attendance, and a Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 10.07am today to attend a road traffic collision in Inverurie, near Kemnay.
“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene.”
