A man is in hospital after an alleged stabbing in Aberdeen’s city centre.
Police and ambulance teams were called to the scene of an incident on Shiprow, outside of Vue Cinema, shortly after noon.
A police spokeswoman confirmed that a man has been taken to hospital following reports of an assault.
His injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.
The area is currently cordoned off while the emergency services attend the scene.
At around 3pm, police confirmed that a 33-year-old was detained in relation to the incident.
Inspector Chris Kerr said: “This has been a contained incident and we are not looking to trace anyone else in connection with our inquiries. Shiprow will be closed for the time being and we would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation while inquiries are carried out into the incident.”
“If anyone who witnessed the incident or knows anything about it hasn’t yet spoken to officers I would ask that they call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 1309 of 12 September. ”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 1207 hours today to attend an incident on Ship Row in Aberdeen.
“We dispatched a paramedic response unit and one ambulance to the scene.
“One male patient in his thirties was taken to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
“We received a call at 1235 hours from Police Scotland to attend to a second patient at the same locale.
“We dispatched a paramedic response unit and one ambulance.
“One female patient in her thirties is currently being treated at the scene.”
