Car found submerged in water during Aberdeenshire search

Emergency services have found a car fully submerged in water during a major search operation in Aberdeenshire.
Work is still being carried out to find a man who was reported to have been in the vehicle.
Police and other rescue teams were alerted to a reports of a car in the Burn of Boyne, just off the A98 at Tillynaught, Portsoy, at around 4pm on Wednesday.
In a statement relating to the ongoing incident, Police Scotland said: “Police can confirm that the vehicle has been located. It is fully submerged within the water.
“Searches are ongoing to trace the man who was reported to have been within the vehicle and efforts are ongoing to safely recover the vehicle from the water.
“Next of kin of the man are being updated.”
The car was thought to have a single occupant at the time of the incident.
Members of the public were urged to avoid the area while emergency services responded at the scene.
