A north-east woman has admitted carrying out a string of attacks on elderly men in Aberdeen.
Adele Newell physically attacked three victims before ransacking their pockets looking for money.
The 49-year-old confessed to the offences during an appearance in Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
The court heard how she befriended James Hay in June last year and entered his home on School Drive to socialise with him.
The 58-year-old, who required a stick to walk with due to a disability, noticed a change in her demeanour and she then punched him in the eye, knocking him to the ground.
She later brought another man into the home who took £275 from his wallet before they left.
Fiscal depute Alan Townsend said: “She was interviewed two days after and she initially denied knowing Mr Hay.
“However, as DNA was explained to her by the police, she accepted knowing him and being in his flat.”
The court also heard how she targeted Vijay Wanchoo as he walked towards his home on Jasmine Way.
The 71-year-old noticed her following him and as she walked up to him she pushed him and repeatedly searched through his pockets looking for money which she failed to find.
She also went after Stuart Barrack who invited her into his home on Seaton House in December 2012.
She pushed Mr Barrack – who had since died – up against a door and took a £5 note from his pockets.
Newell also admitted to failing to appear at court on June 29 this year.
Sheriff Andrew Miller deferred sentence on her to allow reports to be obtained.
Newell, whose address was given as HMP Grampian, was remanded in custody and will return to court on October 13 to be sentenced.
