Firefighters battled a kitchen blaze in a north-east home this morning. Crews were called out at 7.45am to a property in Ythan Terrace, Ellon. A fire spokesman said it was a fire in a ground floor kitchen and crews used a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus to extinguish it. He added it was under control by 8.01am.
