Police inspector Carron McKellar, centre, and NHS doctor Professor Corri Black, right, have got the country at their feet after raising £11,000 for Aberdeen’s Maggie’s Centre.
They were piped to the finish line after running 215 miles across Scotland in less than a week.
The runners arrived at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after creating a new route dubbed Cross Scotland in Six Days. They started out on Saturday from Ardnamurchan Point and took in Fort William, Dalwhinnie, Braemar and Banchory – with some “horrendous” weather en route.
The women wanted to raise funds for Maggie’s after experiencing the support it offered while their partners underwent cancer treatment.
Susan Sutherland, Maggie’s Aberdeen manager, said: “Not only have they raised a fantastic amount of money for Maggie’s – they have also raised awareness of what we do.”
