School will be out for the final time for an Aberdeenshire primary this week when it closes its doors permanently.
Inverurie Market Place School will be mothballed and its pupils relocated to the new £11million Uryside Primary School following the October break, which begins on Monday.
To mark the occasion, a special ceremony will take place at the school later today involving pupils and staff.
Pupils will perform a number of songs, followed by a procession which will led by pipers with children in their wake.
The event will finish with the school bell ringing.
Earlier this year, pupils put their memories of the school in a time capsule and buried it in the grounds of the new facility.
The time capsule was filled with items suggested by the pupils including a school photo album, a calendar of school events, a school dinner menu and a local newspaper.
The ceremony will take place at 2.30pm.
An official opening ceremony at the new school will take place on December 15.
