NHS Grampian has announced a new £10million multi-storey car park at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary will open next Wednesday.
It will add 1,000 extra spaces to the site, which will be exclusively available to patients and visitors.
Funds for the multi-storey were provided by the Wood Foundation last year.
Entry will be controlled by barrier and automatic number plate recognition.
The facility was originally due to open in September, but the start of the project was delayed.
Around 13,000 vehicles currently visit ARI every day, causing the frequent spill-over of cars into residential areas.
A NHS spokeswoman said: “We would ask all staff, patients and visitors for their patience as this new facility comes into use.
“In order to help us keep the site running smoothly, please use the patient/visitor car park closest to the ward or clinic you require rather than coming directly to the multi-storey car park.”
