An Aberdeen man is facing jail after deliberately trying to crash a car into a police vehicle.
Ricky Davidson appeared at the city’s sheriff court yesterday to plead guilty to a string of driving offences which took place on Wednesday, July 26.
The 25-year-old, who is being held in remand at HMP Peterhead, admitted a first allegation of driving his Vauxhall Astra dangerously on Anderson Drive by “repeatedly driving at excessive speed on the wrong side of the carriageway and attempting to collide with a marked police vehicle”.
Court papers state that, after colliding with and damaging another vehicle on Eday Drive, Davidson failed to stop and exchange details with the owner.
The accused also admitted failing to stop at the junction between Eday Drive and Eday Road when requested to by police constable Alan Paxton.
He also accepted charges of driving without insurance, without a test certificate and while disqualified.
Davidson will return to the court to be sentenced on Friday, November 3.
