Police have launched an appeal to help trace an elderly north-east man who is suffering from dementia.
Forbes Cassie, 87, was last seen this morning at his Mintlaw home at about 2am.
At the time, he is thought to have been leaving the area in his car – a blue MG ZR with registration number SK04 EPT.
Officers believe he may have been confused and are appealing for anyone who has seen him or his vehicle since to contact them immediately.
Mr Forbes, who is also known as Bob, is described as being about 5’9″ and of a medium build. He has grey, balding hair.
He may be wearing a navy coat and trousers.
Sergeant Andy Sawers said: “It is out of character for Bob to not be in touch with his family and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“Anyone with information that could assist police or who sees Bob’s car is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 731 of today.”
