A chef has been fined £500 for hurling his mobile phone at a police officer after being caught urinating in public.
David More, of Shieldhill Gardens in Aberdeen, was spotted relieving himself against a fence in Langstane Place in the early hours of Monday, September 25.
The 42-year-old father appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday to face three separate charges after becoming incensed when questioned by police.
Fiscal Stuart Wright said: “More became abusive to the police officers, shaking his hand aggressively at them before throwing his phone at a female constable.
“She managed to move her head to avoid being struck, and when attempts were made to handcuff the accused he began lashing out with his arms and legs.”
More later admitted a charge of “urinating in such circumstances as to cause annoyance to another person”.
He accepted another charge of assaulting constable KeriDunn by throwing a mobile phone at her and also admitted “struggling violently” with two other officers.
Defence agent Ross Taggart said his client suffers from borderline personality disorder and “accepts that he acted irrationally”.
Mr Taggart added: “He is prone to mood swings and had not been coping well that weekend, primarily due to problems with work.
“His usual coping mechanism is to run endurance races and he had run for 24 hours that weekend, so was very low on energy.
“But he was still struggling with stress, so went for a drink – something he had not done for a considerable time.”
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin fined More £100 for urinating in public, £200 for assaulting Constable Dunn and £200 for obstructing officers attempting to arrest him.
