Thirty-year=old Michal Rafal Podgorski has been named as the victim of a fatal crash in Aberdeen.
Emergency services were called to the A947 between Stoneywood Roundabout and Mugiemoss road at around 12.30am today.
The road was closed for several hours while an investigation was carried out.
A police statement reads: “Police Scotland can confirm that the 30 year old male pedestrian involved in the road traffic collision with the grey Renault Megane on the A947 between Stoneywood Roundabout and Mugiemoss Road on Friday [November 3, 2017] at around 00:30 has been named as Michal Rafal Podgorski from Poland who lives in the Kincorth area of Aberdeen.”
Sergeant Rob Warnock, from Inverurie Divisional Road Policing Unit, said: “First and foremost our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Michal.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen the crash or who may have seen the vehicle or Michal shortly beforehand and who hasn’t yet spoken with Police to do so to help us piece together exactly what happened.”
