Inverurie Gymnastics Club lodged plans with Aberdeenshire Council to move into Advertising House in Blackhall Industrial Estate. The request was granted this week by councillors on the Garioch area committee. Head coach Julie Barclay said: “I was delighted when I heard we had been given approval to move into the new premises. “To be honest, we were very confident about the plans being approved by the councillors so we have already been taking steps to move in. “The plans we have are very exciting so we can’t wait to get started.” Currently the club has around 100 members aged between four and 16. After the move, which is expected to be completed by the end of January, it will be able to expand its offering. Mrs Barclay added: “Currently we are a bit hampered in what we can offer because the Garioch Sports Centre isn’t built especially for us. “With our own place it will allow us to offer pre-school classes, which is something we have been looking at.”
