A 26-year-old man from Liverpool is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today following the recovering of drugs worth £40,000.
The large quantity of cannabis was seized following an intelligence-led operation in the city’s Guild Street area.
The 26-year-old was detained at the scene and subsequently charged in connection with the recovery.
Detective Sergeant Bruce Buntain said: “This latest action under Operation Aspen – North East Division’s ongoing initiative to tackle the sale and supply of illegal substances – has intercepted a significant amount of drugs which would have been bound for our communities.
“Proactive action like this is ongoing on a daily basis to ensure the North East remains a safe place to live. I urge the public to help us continue to do this by letting us know if you have concerns about drug misuse so we can target our resources to the right places and at the right times.
“Police can be contacted on 101, or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.”
