An Aberdeen man has been banned from owning pets for three years after kicking his dog in the nether regions.
Allan Gillies admitted to causing one of his pets “unnecessary suffering” during an appearance at the city’s Sheriff Court last month.
The 36-year-old seized a dog named Copper by the collar, restricting its breathing.
He also confessed to lifting the dog and throwing it to the ground at his property on Inverurie Road.
The dog was confiscated, but he wanted another dog called Hunter to be returned to him.
However, when he appeared at court yesterday, Sheriff Morag McClaughlin denied him that request and ruled he could not own any pets for a three-year period.
He was also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and will be under supervision for a year.
