Man detained after allegedly failing to stop for police and driving on wrong side of A90

A man has been detained for allegedly failing to stop for police following a high speed chase down a major north-east road.

At one stage the van travelled up the wrong side of the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road, with traffic coming in the opposite direction.

Police waited until the blue Transit van was on the right side of the road and managed to stop it in the northbound carriageway at Portlethen.

The man is alleged to have then continued to try and evade officers on foot before being caught and arrested.
