Police have charged a 51-year-old man following a £170,000 Class A drugs seizure in Aberdeen.
Officers searched a property in Summerfield Place yesterday, and discovered crack cocaine and heroin.
The man is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.
Detective Inspector Allen Shaw said: “This is a significant seizure of controlled drugs that would have been bound for the streets of the north-east, and in particular the most vulnerable people who live in them.
“I cannot stress enough the devastating effects illegal substances can have on our communities, which is why targeted proactive action is carried out on a daily basis.
“Drugs worth almost £2.5million were seized in Aberdeen in just one year thanks to this action, with 252 drugs search warrants executed – an average of 21 per month.
“We will continue to act on all intelligence received and urge the public to continue to help us by reporting your concerns through 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 to remain anonymous.”
