A north-east man is due to go on trial next month accused of crashing a mobility scooter in Aberdeen while drunk.
John Nicol is alleged to have driven culpably and recklessly at the Robert Gordon University on Garthdee Road by heading down an embankment and hitting a tree.
He is also accused of entering the river and forcing members of the public and the emergency services to rescue him during the incident in March this year.
The 65-year-old, or Two Mile Cross in Aberdeen, denies the charge against him.
He will go on trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
