This morning the road was closed for the first time as motorists battled with wintry conditions.
Police said at 8am the B974 Cairn O Mount road was closed for traffic heading north from Fettercairn to Banchory due to ice but is open and passable with care for drivers heading south from Banchory to Fettercairn.
The road re-opened just after 9am.
Another lorry ended up in a ditch on the A947 between Turriff and Fyvie after breaking down and pulling in.
Drivers have been reporting icy conditions across the area including the A96 at Huntly.
