North-east level crossing closed after lorry strikes barrier

Commuters have been facing delays after a lorry became ‘stuck’ on railway tracks at the level crossing in Insch.
Police said the alarm was raised at 2.25pm and may assist with traffic management. The spokeswoman added no one had been injured.
A Network Rail spokesman said: “A lorry struck the barrier at Insch at around 2.25pm.”
ScotRail tweeted train services between Aberdeen and Inverurie had been either delayed or revised, as well as the Aberdeen and Inverness line.
Trains began running again around an hour later, while police officers are remaining at the scene to help motorists and pedestrians cross the tracks safely, due to the lack of a safety barrier.
