A yellow weather warning has been issued across the north of Scotland this evening.
The Met Office has urged drivers to be wary of adverse snowy and icy conditions across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Inverness, and the islands as temperatures drop across the country.
The warning is expected to remain in place until 10am tomorrow.
Snow gate closures are in place on the A939 Cockbridge to Tomintoul road, as well as on the A93 Braemar to Spittal of Glenshee route.
A Met Office statement said: “Icy patches are likely to develop on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths or where showers cause was-off on treated roads.
“Wintry showers will bring an additional hazard and may lead to one to two cm (0.4in to 0.8in) of snow accumulating on ground above 200m (650ft).”
