A north-east school will remain closed today to allow for “safety checks” to be undertaken.
Mackie Academy closed yesterday due to a suspected fire. Crews attended the school in Stonehaven after smoke was seen coming from a generator following a power outage, although no fire was detected.
Pupils were evacuated and later sent home early.
Aberdeenshire Council said today: “The school has been closed to allow safety checks to take place following yesterday’s incident. The school will reopen on Monday, 4th December 2017.”
