People flying from Aberdeen are facing lengthy delays tonight as a result of winter weather throwing timetables into turmoil across the UK.
Storm Caroline is being blamed for mounting degrees of frustration in the departure lounge at Aberdeen International Airport.
Most passengers are waiting more than two hours beyond their flights’ intended take-off time.
A 6.25pm flight to Norwich only left the city at 8.48pm, while a Flybe plane intended to leave for Humberside at 6.30pm only left Aberdeen at 8.54pm.
The 7.40pm Wick flight left at 9pm, and the 8.10pm London Heathrow plane only went airborne at 9.35pm.
A Birmingham flight scheduled for departure at 8.45pm is now estimated to leave the city at 11.15pm.
A spokesman for Aberdeen International Airport confirmed that the delays were the result of an accumulation of other setbacks throughout the country today.
He said: “The delays at Aberdeen are being caused by delays at other airports during the day, so this is a knock-on effect as a result of the weather.”
