Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene on the B9170 Inverurie to Oldmeldrum road just after 2.30pm. The road near Barra Castle was blocked while the emergency services worked to clear the damage. One of the cars had also caught fire. A white Honda CR-V, a white Ford Fiesta, a blue Skoda Roomster, a black Audi Q3 and a black Vauxhall Insignia were all involved. The casualty, who was in her 50s, was taken to hospital, but the extent of her injuries is not known. No-one else was believed to have been seriously hurt. Last night a Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 1433 hours today to attend a RTC on the B9170, Oldmeldrum, Inverurie. “We dispatched two ambulances and our emergency medical retrieval service to the scene. “One female patient was transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
