A jack-knifed lorry has blocked a north-east road. Police have closed the A90 Aberdeen to Ellon road between Kellie Pearl Way and the A952 Toll of Birness junction while they recover the vehicle. A Police Scotland spokeswoman said the road was likely to re-open at around 1.30am. She added: “It seems the lorry skidded on some black ice.” No-one was hurt. With temperatures as low as -15C expected in some parts of Scotland overnight, motorists are being advised to take care on the roads. Bear Scotland has confirmed it will be double-treating all of its roads to combat the treacherous conditions.
