The incident happened late on Saturday evening adjacent to the town’s bus station. Constable Neale Gawthorpe said: “The fire, had it not been dealt promptly by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, could have easily spread. “It goes without saying that this could have been a far more serious incident.” Anyone who has information can get in touch calling 101, using reference number CF0363081217 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.
