Aberdeen kicks off the Hogmanay celebrations with a street party on New Year’s Eve with a host of entertainment.
The city’s Schoolhill area will be transformed into a street party with live music from Bluegrass-funk band ‘The Banjo Lounge 4’ and Beatles tribute ‘Mersey Beatles’ on an open air stage.
A fireworks display will bring in the bells from His Majesty’s Theatre rooftop at midnight with the best views coming from Union Bridge, Union Terrace and Schoolhill.
The event is free, starting at 8.45pm and finishing at 12.15am on New Years Day.
Taking to the outdoor stage are Edinburgh-based mash-up band, The Banjo Lounge 4 play. With a 5-string banjo, acoustic guitar, double bass, stripped down drum kit and four vocalists, the band will get the party started with their Bluegrass-funk style.
Joining them are Beatles tribute act, The Mersey Beatles. The Liverpudlian band recreate a very authentic and distinctly Liverpool flavour in their music.
Alcohol is permitted at the event however no glass containers or bottles are allowed.
