A bus replacement service will run between Aberdeen and Dundee for the next five weekends as work continues on the railway lines.
The replacement service allows engineers to continue the £4m refurbishment work to renew sections of track, refurbish bridges and prepare platforms for the arrival of new train fleets.
Work will take place on:
Sunday January 7
Sunday January 14
Sunday January 21
Sunday January 28
Saturday February 3
Sunday February 4
Refurbishment works between the north-east cities include the removal of expired track as well as altering platforms at Aberdeen as part of a £1m project to allow Virgin East Coast’s fleet of new Azuma trains to run.
David Dickson, the ScotRail Alliance’s infrastructure director, said:
“We will do all we can to keep people moving.
“We know that nobody likes having to take a bus instead of a train, which is why we’re carrying out the majority of these works on days when less people travel.
