A man found dead in an Aberdeen property has been named locally.
Alan Cowie, believed to be 65, was found in a flat at Alexander Terrace in the Tillydrone area of the city yesterday morning.
Police are treating his death as suspicious and have launched a murder inquiry.
A woman was detained last night to assist officers with their investigation.
Detective Inspector Gary Winter, who is leading the investigation, said earlier: “I can reassure the public that this was a contained, isolated incident and that at no point was there any threat to the wider public.
“Officers will remain at the scene throughout today to carry out further inquiries.”
Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.
