Rosehearty library commemorates local mine disaster
Rosehearty library is remembering 100 years since the mine disaster that shook the Moray Firth community.
The local library is commemorating the events that took place in 1918 with a display.
Eight men lost their lives protecting the Rosehearty harbour wall as they towed a World War I mine out to sea when it exploded.
Today is the centenary of the #Rosehearty Mine Disaster in 1918 when a mine was washed ashore at the harbour. It exploded, killing & injuring a number of local men and boys. Come along to Rosehearty Library to see a small display about this tragic event. pic.twitter.com/aJ0KLtumpV
