Police are appealing for information into a theft of heating oil from an Ellon primary school that resulted in its closure yesterday.
Methlick Primary School was forced to close yesterday as 2,000 litres of heating oil was stolen from their oil tank.
The value of the oil taken is estimated to be worth a mid three figure sum of money.
Police expect the incident took place between last Thursday and yesterday.
Investigating Officer Kerr Baptie said: “This incident resulted in great inconvenience to staff, parents and pupils.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or usual in the area between to get in touch.”
