Firefighters rushed to Aberdeenshire barn fire

More than 20 firefighters were needed to tackle flames at an Aberdeenshire farm.

Fire crews were called to a Dutch barn near Newtonhill at 1.36pm this afternoon.

The structure, which is approximately 490sq ft, was described as “well alight” when they arrived.

In total four engines and two water carriers were attending at the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service control centre received the “stop message” at 7.10pm.
