A north-east butcher has launched a unique bid to help promote his local side’s game against Rangers.
Charlotte Street butcher Gavin McIntosh has put a new spin on the classic banger to help Fraserburgh Football Club over the line against the Old Firm giants on Sunday.
The black-and-white sausages went on sale this week ahead of his side’s Scottish Cup fixture.
Each pack has four pork and mealie, and four pork and black pudding links.
And last night, Mr McIntosh said they have been “flying” out the door.
He said: “One of my employees is actually a member of the Fraserburgh Football Club committee so we just thought we’d do something to mark the game.
“We’ve sold a lot of them since they started going out and they’re getting a lot of comments on our Facebook page.
“It’s been well supported so far.”
The speciality bangers are the latest in a line of unique sausage mixes the butcher, which also a shop in Rosehearty, has come up with.
As well as selling Rabbies Ball’s to mark Burns Night, the butcher has previously created Jagermeister and Red Bull infused sausages, cheese and pickle sausages, and Chinese curry sauce sausages.
The butcher is the latest shop in Fraserburgh to set their stall out for positive performance from their home side.
On Wednesday, shops across the port started decorating their front windows in support of the team.
Duncan Leel, owner of Dicks Sports in Broad Street, said the players would be “heroes” to everyone in the town regardless of the result.
