A north-east man attacked police officers and made racist comments towards them on Christmas Day.
Muhammed Ahmed had been out drinking on Christmas Eve and when he left a pub in the early hours of the following morning he saw a friend being spoken to by officers on Market Place in Inverurie.
He then decided to get involved and when asked to stand back he kicked police constable Euan Duthie.
The 27-year-old then made racist remarks calling officers “white piglets” and saying he would escape and find out where they lived.
He also kicked police constable Claire Williamson as she attempted to move him into a van and she fell back on to the door of the vehicle.
Ahmed, who works as a waiter, admitted the offences during an appearance at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
Representing him, defence lawyer Michael Horsman said he accepted responsibility for what happened.
He said: “He realises that he should not have got involved.
“He simple wishes to apologise for his conduct.”
Sheriff Christine McCrossan deferred sentence on Ahmed, of Main Street in Turriff, for two weeks to obtain reports.
He was remanded in custody.
