An investigation into reports heating oil was stolen from a north-east primary school has concluded no crime was committed.
Pupils were sent home from Methlick Primary School after the boiler suddenly stopped worked on January 10.
Police launched an inquiry into the incident following reports the oil had been drained and stolen from the supply tank.
The force said today the investigation had been concluded and it has been “established no crime was committed”.
Investigating officer Constable Kerr Baptie said: “We are grateful for the assistance of staff, parents and all those who use the school while inquiries were carried out.”
